Yin yoga is a passive form of yoga that allows us to move past the superficial muscles and work into our joints, ligaments, tendons and connective tissue (fascia). Focusing on breath and slow mindful movements, grounded postures are held for an extended period of time to gently and safely open up the body, reducing tension (physical and emotional) and increasing flexibility, using bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps for support and assistance.
